Why we set water efficiency standards for water purifiers? 

The data show that 23 million water purifiers are produced every year in China, among which, reverse osmosis membrane water purifiers are favored by the market for their good effluent quality. There are as many as 6 million units. But the reverse osmosis membrane water purifier is a real "water tiger". The ratio of water production is 1: 4, that is, 4 liters of concentrated water need to be drained out to produce 1 liter of clean water. Only 6 million reverse osmosis membrane water purifiers are used in China each year, which will cause 2.1 billion tons of water waste.

Bai Xue, secretary-general of the China Institute of Standardization, said the "water efficiency limit and water efficiency grade standards for reverse osmosis water purifiers" had been set up a few years ago. He said the standards are being drawn up at an accelerated pace and are expected to be introduced soon.

The water purifier industry has a huge space for development, but its technical content is not high, the industry is mixed. Water saving attention is very low. Why should we certificate the water efficiency certification of the water purifier?
